As an entrepreneur, I co-founded Caption Health with a simple but powerful concept: use technology to emulate the expertise of highly trained medical experts and put that ability into the hands of every care provider. As a founding team member of IQ Engines, which was acquired by Yahoo! and now powers deep learning-based visual analytics across all Yahoo! properties, we created photo album organization solutions. In my scientific work, I was privileged to work with colleagues to be the first to show that deep learning algorithms could rival the human visual system on specific tasks.
